FA releases Ferdinand statement

The Football Association has released a statement on Rio Ferdinand's eight-month ban.

“The FA has received today the decision of the Independent Disciplinary Commission into the case of Rio Ferdinand," the statement reads.

“Clearly the commission regarded not taking a drugs test as a very serious matter and have taken their action accordingly. The FA has no further comment to make.”
