Blues probe Dugarry knee injury

Birmingham are determined to make sure striker Christophe Dugarry can get to the root of his knee problem.

The former World Cup winner was the catalyst for Birmingham’s revival last season which ensured they clung onto their Premiership status.

But the current campaign has been frustrating for the Frenchman who underwent surgery on his knee in August.

Dugarry had previously returned home for treatment but this time the diagnosis will come from the Blues’ medical team today before the look abroad to try to find a cure.

Bruce said: “Christophe will see our specialist on Monday and then he will have a second opinion.

"We’re looking at a doctor in Belgium and also the United States.

“We are trying to get to the bottom of it to see if there is anything we are missing and to try to make sure we can clear this injury up.”

Meanwhile Blues striker Mikael Forssell is delighted to renew his strike partnership with Clinton Morrison.

The pair had a prolific spell at Crystal Palace two years ago and both were on target for Birmingham in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Leicester.

Forssell said: “It was a good partnership at Palace and it seemed to work again at Leicester. It definitely helped that we had played together before.

“I was really happy he scored on Saturday because he hasn’t played that much this season and it will boost his confidence.”
