Birmingham striker Clinton Morrison has admitted he is hoping for a loan move to Sunderland to ease the frustration of being on the fringe of Steve Bruce’s plans at St Andrews.

And Morrison would welcome the chance of a reunion with his former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy – now in charge of the Wearsiders – who is believed to be interested in acquiring his services for a month or two.
