Chelsea move would make me happy - Rivaldo
Brazilian World Cup winner Rivaldo wants to play for Chelsea.
The 31-year-old forward is unsettled at AC Milan and the club have confirmed he will be moved on during the January transfer window.
Rivaldo was linked with a move to Manchester United prior to his switch from Barcelona to AC Milan in July 2002.
However, he has been impressed by the transformation in Chelsea since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over the club, and told the News of the World: “Now I would be very happy to play for Chelsea.
“They have a man in charge of them who has come from outside of England and he’s buying the best, most exciting players in the world.
“It is as though Roman Abramovich is running an NBA all-star team. He has turned Chelsea into a side with a unique style, unlike any other team in England.
“Now I am hoping there will be a surprise in a month. It will come before January, I can tell you that.
“On many occasions British clubs have wanted to talk, one that had concrete interest was Manchester United around 18 months ago.
“But at that time it was impossible to leave Barcelona.”
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed Rivaldo will be leaving the club.
“It is with great sadness I have to say that Rivaldo will leave within a few days. He has been unable to find a place in the team and so, without doubt, he will play for another club from January.”
