Liverpool begin second half strongly

Liverpool have begun the second half against Manchester United in determined fashion after the first half proved to be a game of tense cat and mouse.

Liverpool tried to take the game to the champions, but apart from a Harry Kewell long range drive over the bar, neither side created a significant scoring chance.

For all their possession, Liverpool were not moving it around quickly enough to drag United out of their shell, the visitors’ midfield happily defending 10 yards inside their half and picking off inaccurate passes with ease.
