Beckham struggling to make Santander game
David Beckham has admitted he is unlikely to be fit to play for Real Madrid against Racing Santander this weekend.
Beckham limped off the field with a pain at the back of the right thigh after the 1-0 Champions League victory over Partizan Belgrade at the Bernabeu Stadium and will have tests on the injury with club doctor Alfonso del Corral.
"It is a hamstring at the moment but we don't know how bad it is," Beckham said.
"I don't think I will be able to play at the weekend to be honest but you never know."
Beckham believed he had aggravated the dead leg he received last weekend against Celta Vigo.
He said: "At Vigo I got a dead leg and it has come from that. I think it is coming from playing so hard and working so hard.
"It has been sore in training and I thought it would be okay but there was one moment in the game when I released Figo in the penalty area and I felt it then.
"Five minutes after that they had done the other substitution and it was too late (to go off) then."
Beckham said he was pleased with the victory that leaves Real virtually certain to progress to the knockout stages.
"People will see it was frustrating and only 1-0 but you cannot win every game four or five nil," he said.
"They (Partizan) worked hard and got people behind the ball and sometimes that can be frustrating.
"We just concentrated on our job to get the three points and that is what we have done."
