Holland midfielder Mark van Bommel is rated as doubtful for his country‘s crucial Euro 2004 play-off match against Scotland.

The PSV star is suffering from an abdominal injury and is expected to be out for six weeks, reports Algemeen Dagblad.

With the 'Oranje' due to meet Scotland on November 15 and 19, Van Bommel is almost certain to be absent from the side.

The news will also come as a blow to his club, who will be without their captain in the Champions League game against AEK Athens and the league clash against Ajax in 10 days, with Remco van der Schaaf stepping in as his replacement.
