Derry in trouble after Waterford defeat
Derry City 1 Waterford United 2
Alan Reilly hit a super winner as Jimmy McGeough’s Blues came away from his native city with a precious win.
Reilly fired home on 71 minutes after man-of-the-match Neale Fenn set him up.
Peter Hutton had headed Derry level from a Gareth McGlynn cross just five minutes earlier.
Blues began well and Reilly headed against a post from a Fenn cross on nine minutes.
Derry remained under pressure into the second half and Blues opened the scoring on 52 minutes when David Mulcahy headed home a Reilly corner.
