Woodwork plays its part in RSC goalless draw

Waterford United 0 Longford Town 0

The woodwork came to both side's rescue as they had to settle for a point from this entertaining scoreless draw at the RSC.

Blues were first up to rattle the posts when defender Dave Mulcahy headed Alan Reilly's 57th minute corner off an upright.

Town finished the stronger with skipper Barry Ferguson having a header come back off the bar from Philip Keogh's corner on 65 minutes.

Then, three minutes from time, fellow defender Brian McGovern also headed against the bar from another Keogh corner.
