Salgado is £11m United target

Manchester United are ready to offer Real Madrid's Michel Salgado a four-year deal worth a total of £11m (€15m), says the Daily Star.

The Spain defender is out of contract next summer and will be available for no transfer fee.

The newspaper claims United have contacted Salgado's agent Gines Carvajal.

Alex Ferguson is reported to have been an admirer of the player for the past three years.
