Worthington wins manager of month award

Norwich boss Nigel Worthington won the Division One Nationwide Manager of the Month award for September.

The Northern Irishman steered the Canaries to four wins and a draw in the five league games played last month to help the club up into fourth place.

The Division Two award was won by Colchester boss Phil Parkinson courtesy of the Us winning four and drawing two of their six games.

Yeovil’s Gary Johnson was the Third Division’s top manager with five wins and a draw from six matches while Barnet boss Martin Allen claimed the Conference award after steering the Bees to four wins and a draw from five games.
