St Pat's topscorer Tony Bird was sent off as Blues ended the Dubliners seven match winning run in this dour battle at the RSC.

Bird, who has hit 14 goals this season, was shown a straight red card on 56 minutes for appearing to elbow Blues defender David Mulcahy.

Blues had the best chances throughout the game with Kevin O'Brien forcing the save of the night from Chris Adamson on 72 minutes before shooting over the top two minutes from time.
