Zahavi: Ferguson approach 'not true'

Football agent Pini Zahavi has denied any knowledge of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s reported approach to Alex Ferguson.

It was claimed yesterday that the Manchester United manager was approached to become Chelsea’s new boss shortly after Abramovich bought the London club.

But Zahavi, who helped Abramovich buy Chelsea, claims he is unaware of any move to lure Ferguson.

He told The Sun: “As far as I know the story is not at all true. There is not a lot more I can say about it.”
