Zidane questionable for France
Zinedine Zidane is doubtful for France’s European Championship qualifying matches against Cyprus and Slovenia after injuring his ankle in Real Madrid’s draw with Villarreal on Tuesday night.
The French midfielder limped out of the game in the first half and was replaced by Santiago Solari.
He is due to arrive in Clairefontaine, the French national team’s training camp, on Wednesday and will be examined by team doctor Jean-Marcel Ferret.
France, who lead Group A after five consecutive wins, take on Cyprus at the Stade de France on Saturday and then travel to Slovenia on Wednesday.
Their final qualifying match in on October 11 against Israel.
