Monaghan United have been deducted three points and fined €2,500 for playing three unregistered players in their clash against Dublin City last week.

Anthony Fennelly, David Nicholl and Jonathan Prizeman played in the First Division tie on August 24.

The eircom League made the decision at their Board of Control meeting.
