Rangers swoop for Egil Ostenstad

Rangers have signed striker Egil Ostenstad from Blackburn Rovers on a one-year deal.

Blues manager Alex McLeish was desperate for more firepower ahead of the Champions League group stages.

But, after missing out on a possible loan deal for John Carew, he succeeded in bringing his Norwegian international team-mate to Ibrox.

Ostenstad trained with the team ahead of the trip to Dundee United tomorrow.
