Shels slump to home defeat
Shelbourne 2 Olimpija Ljubljana 3 (Agg: 2-4)
Shelbourne slumped to an abject defeat as their UEFA Cup dream was ripped to shreds at Tolka Park.
Olimpija, leading 1-0 from the first leg, had the perfect start with an away goal after just nine minutes.
Mladen Rudonja burst through to set up Nedim Jusufbogovic whose deflected shot beat Steve Williams.
But Shels levelled on the night five minutes later when Ollie Cahill headed home Richie Baker's cross.
It was all over for Shels once Olimpija scored again in first half stoppage time, however.
Dave Rogers' poor header fell for Marko Kmetec who laid it off for Anton Zlogar to drill a low shot into the bottom right-hand corner of Williams' net.
Marko Kmetec added a third goal for Olimpija on 56 minutes when punished a poor pass from David Crawley to skip past Kevin Doherty and fire past Williams.
Jason Byrne got a consolation goal a minute into stoppage time when diving low to head home Cahill's cross.
Far too little too late.
