Beckham pleads for Real chance

David Beckham has pleaded with Sven-Goran Eriksson to let him play for Real Madrid next week.

The England skipper is at the centre of a club versus country row, with Eriksson having to decide whether to invoke FIFA’s four-day rule to prevent Beckham turning out for his new club against Villarreal next Wednesday.
