Cole could be in line for Rovers start

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness could be tempted to recall Andy Cole to the team at Bolton on Saturday.

Dwight Yorke and Matt Jansen formed the front line partnership in the defeat of Wolves at the weekend.

Cole, however, showed he had shrugged off an Achilles injury by coming off the bench and scoring twice.

Souness said: “We started with Dwight and Matt because the previous two games against Chievo and Bray, Andy was feeling his Achilles.

“They did well in both matches and I felt I had to be fair to them.

“I explained that to Andy. He put a marker down [against Wolves], which I am absolutely delighted about.

“It was as if to say ‘hey, Mr Manager, don’t forget me’. I am delighted with the reaction I got from him.”
