Vieira and Pires Gunner stay

Former Arsenal star Alan Smith has predicted that the decision by Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires to extend their contracts at Highbury will be met by relief from the Gunners fans.

Skipper Vieira has committed himself to the club until 2007 with fellow French international Pires agreeing to stay for another three years.
