David O'Leary's Premiership side won the Dublin Tournament final at Tolka Park this evening with a decisive win over Eamon Collins' Saints' side.

Villa held a 2-0 lead at the break as striker Juan Pablo Angel netted twice in eight minutes, his second coming from a Peter Whittingham cross which he glanced past Chris Adamson from the edge of the six yard box.

Referee Ian Stokes sent Eamon Collins off following a disagreement between the Pats boss and Marcus Allback following a bad challenge by Whittingham on Pierre De Block.

Colm Foley failed to trouble new Villa signing Thomas Sorensen with two headed attempts as Pat's brought on numerous replacements.

Allback claimed Villa's third on 78 minutes, following through on the rebound of a Mark Kinsella shot.

Further goals from Whittingham and Mustapha Hadji brought an end to the match as a contest.
