Glenn Roeder's West Ham have pulled themselves back to level terms with Preston after a disastrous start to their Division One season.
The Hammers were a goal down in the second minute after Eddie Lewis netted for Preston. However, three minutes later Jermain Defore equalised for the former Premiership side.
