Boro disappointed as Dalmat to stay at Inter
Stephane Dalmat is set to stay at Inter Milan after Middlesbrough decided against signing the French midfielder.
Dalmat was linked with a move to the Barclaycard Premiership earlier this week with Middlesbrough and Tottenham said to be in pursuit of the young midfielder.
The 24-year-old had been negotiating a possible transfer to Middlesbrough in recent days but Inter have confirmed that Dalmat will remain with the San Siro club.
“Dalmat will stay at Inter,” Inter Milan sports director Marco Branca told PA International from Amsterdam where Inter are taking part in a pre-season tournament.
“We were in talks with Middlesbrough but the club has not been convinced.”
Dalmat joined Inter in January 2001 from Paris St Germain but only made 15 league appearances last season and has been a fringe player for coach Hector Cuper.
