Keegan looks for middle man
Kevin Keegan admits he is looking to add to his Manchester City midfield.
With Ali Benarbia moving to Qatar and doubts about Eyal Berkovic’s fitness the former England coach is keen to strengthen that area of the park.
Berkovic, who has missed some of the club’s pre-season training, picked up a knock in the victory against Feyenoord last week.
“We are one down in the creative department now that Ali is gone and that is a concern for me,” Keegan told www.mcfc.co.uk.
“I won’t go into the season with just one creative player.
“I may only play with one but I will go and replace Ali if I can.
“I can only do it if I can find the right quality and that is what I am looking for. Everyone is looking for them.
“Eyal’s fitness is in doubt at the moment, he is not fully fit yet.
“If something else happens to Eyal we don’t have any cover for that creative role which you need at home more than away.”
Midfielder Paul Bosvelt, who was drafted in from Feyenoord last week, is set to make his first appearance tomorrow in a friendly at Lincoln.
