Cats' keeper David O'Neill then failed to hold a Stephen O'Flynn corner, Brendan Rea didn't properly clear Derek McCarthy's ball back into the box and Pat Purcell headed home.

David Dunphy gave Cats hope with a goal on 65 minutes from Joe Watson's cross but Limerick held out.
