Wolves weighing up Iversen options
Wolves were continuing talks today aimed at securing the free transfer of Steffen Iversen from Tottenham.
The Norwegian star is said to be keen to move to the Premiership newcomers but his personal demands are proving a sticking point.
Iversen currently earns £25,000 (€35,150) per week at White Hart Lane where he has one year remaining on his contract and Wolves are seeking ways to accommodate the player without breaking their rigid wage structure.
One option is a year-long loan deal with both clubs effectively sharing Iversen’s wages. Another is to try to persuade Iversen to take a pay cut and move to Molineux permanently on a one-year deal.
Wolves boss David Jones desperately needs another striker with only Dean Sturridge currently fit.
