Broto - money not the motive for Celtic exit
Former Celtic goalkeeper Javier Sanchez Broto is willing to take a lie detector test to prove he is not greedy.
Hoops boss Martin O’Neill blamed money as the reason the Spaniard was not kept on at the club after his short-term deal ended at the close of the season.
But Broto, who is having a trial with Ipswich, believes the situation would have been resolved if O’Neill had taken his calls.
Broto told the Scottish Sun: “After Martin O’Neill spoke with the press, I realised there had been confusion.
“I’m sure if he gave me the chance to talk with him, things would have been different.
“I can categorically deny that the reason I did not sign for Celtic was money. It has all been a huge misunderstanding.
“I am very disappointed about how things ended for me at Celtic.
“I’m prepared to face a lie detector to prove to everyone that I am telling the truth about this. I never knew anything about a deadline to sign a contract.
“I was happy at the club and in Scotland and was gutted to be told I was one day late signing a piece of paper.
“I tried to phone Martin but he never answered my calls. If I had the chance to speak with him, it would have been sorted.”
