David Beckham was tonight given the all clear to complete his move from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Real doctor Alfonso del Corral emerged from the exclusive Hospital de a Zarzuela to confirm that the 28-year-old England captain had come through a 90-minute medical examination without a problem.

He will now attend his presentation ceremony at the club’s basketball stadium at lunchtime tomorrow, severing his 14-year ties at Old Trafford.

“David is physically very strong and there is nothing to stop him playing top level football,” said del Corral.

“The medical is in two parts, the first one organised here and we will carry out the second one once he joins the club at the start of pre-season.

“The test is to rule out any major problems that could stop him signing.

“He has had no big injuries in his career apart from his broken metatarsal, which is fine and the wrist injury he got at the end of last season which is almost cured.

“He is in perfect condition to play football for Real Madrid.”
