Derry give Waterford a drubbing

Derry jumped out of the bottom with their biggest win of the season.

Irish youth international Kevin Deery put Derry in front on 23 minutes after working a one-two with Gary Beckett to fire past Dan Connor.

But Blues hit back a minute before the break when Daryl Murphy's cross was finished from close range by defender Willie Byrne.

Ciaran Martyn restored Derry's lead six minutes after the interval before late goals from Beckett (71 minutes) and Gerard Gill (86) well and truly got that 5-1 drubbing at Shamrock Rovers last week out of the system.
