Beckett strike lifts Derry and halts Cork

Gary Beckett hit a winner a minute from time to lift Derry out of the bottom two and dent Cork's progress at the top of the table.

Beckett struck to finally beat Michael Devine with a stunning left shot from 20 yards.

Both sides had chances in an entertaining game with George O'Callaghan and Kevin Doyle coming close for Cork in the first half.

But Devine was by far the busier keeper throughout and he made the stop of the game from Beckett.

Alan Bennett then had to clear off the Cork line from Sean Friars as Derry left it late to get their reward.
