Batistuta to play in England
Argentina striker Gabriel Batistuta claims he has received offers from two English teams and will announce in a fortnight which Premier League side he will play for next season.
The 34-year-old has said many times that he wants to leave Italy and play in England before ending his career.
Although playing for Inter Milan, his registration belongs to Roma, whose president Franco Sensi said he plans to transfer him at the end of the season.
And Batistuta told Argentine radio network Mitre: “I still have two more years to keep playing at a good level.
“I also have offers from Italian teams but on balance my desire is to play in England, more than other things.
“In less than 15 days I will know my future. After one or two years in the Premier League I may finish my career at Boca Juniors.”
Boca were the last Argentinian side he played for before going to Italy in 1991.
The striker did not reveal the English teams he had received offers from but reports in Buenos Aires, where Batistuta is having treatment for an ankle injury, have speculated on Chelsea, Charlton and Fulham.
