Take a jab for the Gers, says Mrs de Boer
Ronald de Boer revealed his wife is urging him to take a pain-killing injection so he can play for Rangers against Celtic on Sunday.
The final Old Firm clash of the season will see the title all but clinched by Rangers if they win.
De Boer is doubtful with a calf injury and was forced to miss the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Motherwell last week.
Rangers are being cautious about his fitness but not so his football-daft wife Sharon.
He told The Daily Record: “She is telling me ‘do everything you can to get fit. Take an injection if that’s what you need because it is the most important game of the season’.
“She knows how important it is and she wants me to play my part.”
De Boer has also revealed he plays tennis with Celtic stars Alan Thompson and Henrik Larsson.
He said of Thompson: “Because he plays for the other team am I supposed to hate him? Of course not – and it’s the same with Henrik.”
