Rooney to escape disciplinary action

Wayne Rooney is unlikely to face any disciplinary action from the Football Association over the alleged spitting incident during the Merseyside derby.

The FA have now received the report from referee Paul Durkin and it is understood that no action will be taken against Everton’s 17-year-old striker.
