Gunners wait for Campbell

Arsenal are facing an anxious wait to discover whether defender Sol Campbell will miss their Barclaycard Premiership run-in – and also the FA Cup final.

The Football Association’s video advisory panel will study the tapes of the Gunners’ match against Manchester United last week when Campbell was sent off for what referee Mark Halsey felt was an elbow on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The England star has been in arguably his best form since his move to Highbury in the summer of 2001 but he will be banned for four matches if the FA panel agree with Halsey’s decision.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is aiming at four straight wins to round off the season in the hope that Manchester United will slip up in one of their last three matches.

The Frenchman told the club’s website, www.arsenal.com: “It looks like each team must win every game now. It is down to the one that does not slip up.

“Coming out of last Wednesday’s game, United had a small advantage momentum-wise but we levelled it at Middlesbrough.”
