City take lead against Spurs

Manchester City have taken the lead against Tottenham Hotspur today after just three minutes.

David Sommeil gave the Blues the lead as Kevin Keegan kept faith with his expensive strike partnership of Nicolas Anelka and Robbie Fowler for the visit to White Hart Lane.

Keegan was forced to make one change as Eyal Berkovic missed out with a groin strain and skipper Ali Benarbia returned.

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle named the same team which started in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Leeds, but striker Steffen Iversen – out since the beginning of February with a back problem – was on the bench.
