Wardle: I will not stay on as chairman

Stand-in Manchester City chairman John Wardle has again insisted he will not stay in the post beyond the summer despite fan pressure for him to do so.

Wardle, who together with fellow JD Sports director David Makin, owns a third of the Maine Road club, reluctantly stepped into the breach following the departure of David Bernstein last month.
