Kevin Kilbane revealed how he was struck on the arm by an open pen-knife during the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2004 qualifying Group 10 victory over Georgia in the Lokomotiv Stadium.

The incident came moments before Georgia scored in the 61st minute to cancel out Damien Duff’s 18th-minute goal, although Ireland had the last laugh as Gary Doherty grabbed an 84th-minute winner.
