Tiatto must wait for scan results
Danny Tiatto faces another scan before he will be allowed to step up his fight for fitness.
The combative Australian has not featured in the Manchester City line-up since Boxing Day and has completed just one full training session since the festive period after suffering a series of niggling injuries.
At one stage, it looked as though the midfielder would be forced to have surgery on a hernia problem.
But while those fears have been dispelled, he has suffered another set-back and will now have a scan just to ensure there is nothing major holding him back.
“He has been out for so long now and has missed a lot of games. It is almost like a pre-season for him,” manager Kevin Keegan told the club’s official website www.mcfc.co.uk
“He came back and then picked up several niggling injuries and I think he is feeling the aches after coming back and taking part in a hard programme.
“We will take him for a scan to make sure he is okay and then push on with him from there to get him back into training. He has had one day’s training with the first team since Christmas.”
The 29-year-old has already been ruled out of Sunday’s Maine Road clash with Birmingham and fellow midfielder Eyal Berkovic is also a doubt after his recent groin operation.
However, Peter Schmeichel and Jon Macken do hope to be involved and recovering from their recent injury woes.
