Vieira hails Arsenal heroes

Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira claimed his team “wanted to win every match” after their 2-0 FA Cup fifth-round triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon.

The Frenchman told the BC: “This was a big result for us. It is never easy at Old Trafford but we played really well.

“We knew we had to win the battle in midfield and we did.

“We want to win every single game we play.”

Defender Sol Campbell said: “It’s not easy coming here. The boss wanted to rest Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry for Ajax [Champions League] in midweek.

“The fans were unbelievable but it’s up to us to keep it going.”
