Coventry striker Julian Joachim has suffered yet another injury setback – just hours before he was due to return in the reserves.

The former Aston Villa player, with just five appearances this season, suffered a muscle strain near his hip in afternoon training ahead of the second-string clash with Derby.

The match was due to be the first step of Joachim’s return from the heel injury which has kept him out for the last three months.

The club said it “is unclear at this stage how serious the injury is”.

A Joachim-less Sky Blues team ran out 2-0 winners at Highfield Road.
