Robson pays tribute to chairman

Bobby Robson saluted his chairman Freddy Shepherd after Newcastle completed their £9m swoop for Jonathan Woodgate.

Woodgate’s capture took Robson’s spending to £60m since he succeeded Ruud Gullit three-and-a-half years ago with barely a penny in the pot.
