Goals from Alan Murphy and Barry Moran put Galway in the driving seat to clinch a place in the play-off final.

Murphy struck for the opener on 62 minutes when striking home a 25 yard free kick after he had been fouled.

Moran's second arrived eight minutes later when he latched onto Michael Harty's ball to round keeper Alan Young and slot the ball home.

The sides meet for the second leg at Finn Park on Saturday night.
