David Dunn returned to the Blackburn starting line-up for the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Ewood Park but they are without Damien Duff, who has a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Dunn, made available for transfer by manager Graeme Souness, had recovered from a calf injury.

Striker Matt Jansen was also back in the side with Blackburn hoping to wipe out the memory of their Worthington Cup defeat by Manchester United in midweek.

Sunderland famously won the cup 30 years ago when they defeated Leeds in the final.

But manager Howard Wilkinson was forced to field a weakened side this afternoon because of injuries to key players.

He called up 20-year-old defender Ben Clark with Stephen Wright one of the absentees.
