Wednesday striker Sibon in transfer talks

Sheffield Wednesday striker Gerald Sibon is in talks with Dutch Premier League side SC Heerenveen over a possible return to his homeland.

The 28-year-old former Ajax striker – who arrived at Hillsborough in July 1999 - has scored nine goals for struggling Wednesday this season.

“We have had an approach from Heerenveen and Gerald is currently in talks with them,” confirmed a club spokesman.

Sibon was on target as the Owls produced a stirring comeback to beat Reading 3-2 on Saturday after being 2-0 down after 19 minutes.
