Longford earn vital win over Saints - report

Goals from Sean Francis and Eric Lavine earned Longford a vital win - their first in 12 games.

Town started well and duly punished sloppy home defending to deservedly take the lead on 17 minutes with Francis shooting home captain Vinny Perth's cross.

Tony Bird hit the post for St. Pat's before Lavine struck for the killer goal on 58 minutes - his first in three months.

Brian Byrne did all the hard work down the left to cross and Lavine volleyed home.
