Farnborough given TV incentive

Farnborough have been given an extra incentive to stage their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Arsenal at the Aimita Stadium.

The Football Association today announced the game has been selected by Sky Sports to be broadcast live on Saturday January 25 at 12.30pm – subject to the fixture taking place at Farnborough.

A decision as to whether the tie can go ahead at the Cherrywood Road ground has yet to be made, with talks currently under way between the FA, the club and police following concerns over safety.

However, if the game goes ahead at the home of the Nationwide Conference side, they would receive a broadcast fee of £265,000 (€408,000).

Elsewhere, Manchester United’s match against West Ham at Old Trafford will be screened live on BBC1 at 1pm on Sunday January 26, with Sky showing the game between Crystal Palace and Liverpool, and BBC1 also broadcasting Shrewsbury’s game with Chelsea live at 6.30pm.
