Frank Stapleton has revealed he has been interviewed for the vacant Republic of Ireland manager's job.

Frank Stapleton has revealed he has been interviewed for the vacant Republic of Ireland manager's job.

The former Ireland and Manchester United star was interviewed by Brian Hamilton a few weeks ago, and has also revealed that there are a number of candidates in line for the job, including a host of foreigners.

Stapleton says Hamilton, who is heading the FAI's selection committee, hopes to have a short-list of five names by mid-January.
