Gerrard apologises for two-footed tackle

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has moved to try to defuse the row over his two-footed lunge at Everton‘s Gary Naysmith in today‘s goalless Merseyside derby at Anfield.

There were three minutes remaining when Naysmith cleared the ball down the left touchline, only to be caught by an ugly-looking challenge from Gerrard.
