Candystripes enjoy sweet victory over Pat's

Derry eased their relegation fears to win for the first time in seven games and inflict a fourth defeat on the spin on freefalling St. Pat's.

Sean Hargan put Derry in front three minutes before the break. Sean Friars fired in a low free-kick from the edge of the area and Hargan got the touch to place the ball past Shay Kelly.

Ciaran Martyn finished off a superb move on 71 minutes to seal the win. Tommy McCallion and Liam Coyle worked the ball in from the right and Martyn shot home.
