Don't write Newcastle off - van Gaal

Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal believes Newcastle shouldn't be written off yet despite a second successive Champions League Group A defeat.

Newcastle are at the foot of the table after their 3-1 defeat at the Nou Camp.

But van Gaal saw enough in their display - without Alan Shearer and Craig Bellamy - and in their first-phase fightback to know it is not over just yet.

He said: "I'm sorry for Bobby Robson that we've won because I always wish him luck and a lot of wins."
